The SEED Office is located within the Office of the Associate Dean of Engineering for Academic Affairs (S-219). Its principal goals are to:

  • Establish and facilitate a strategy for continuous evaluation of engineering programs and student learning outcomes assessment.

  • Coordinate with engineering departments and accreditation committees the College of Engineering’s activities regarding accreditation processes, including their implementation strategies.

  • Assess outcomes of the Dean's Strategic Plan

  • Become the College of Engineering’s repository of:

    • Assessment strategies

    • Assessment instruments

    • Assessment results and reports

  • Coordinate professional development activities, such as visits and workshops concerning evaluation and assessment.

  • Disseminate assessment results to stakeholders and decision-makers for their information and decision-making.


The SEED Office counts on the following staff: a coordinator, a secretary and a database in-charge. As one of the most pressing matters for the College of Engineering in the year 2002, the office is currently dealing with the ABET EC2000 accreditation process.
